How do I make my first kit?
Tap Record my first sound, choose a nearby object and make a few taps with gaps between them. Finish capture, listen to the variations and keep the ones you like. Repeat with contrasting sounds until you have nine pads, then Play my kit. You can finish a smaller kit from the hunt’s menu.
The microphone is off.
Use Open Settings on the capture screen and allow microphone access, or choose Import audio. Access is requested only when you start a capture. Check your device’s restrictions if the permission cannot be changed.
I don’t hear a pad.
Check media volume and the current audio output, including connected Bluetooth devices. Open the tempo and recording settings to check Master volume. Tap Stop, then try again. If one sample fails, open its original recording in Kit options.
How do I record my playing?
Open an instrument, tap Record and play the pads after the count-in. Pause and resume if you need a break. Stop saves the take as a stereo WAV. A take with no pad hits is not saved. The metronome is not included in the exported performance.
Can I change a sound later?
Tap Edit and choose a pad. Adjust trim, level, pitch, fade or tone, then Save sound. Pitch also changes speed and length. Originals are preserved, even after removing a pad.
How do I export?
Open Kit options → Export samples for a ZIP of WAVs. Use Share this WAV in the sound editor for a single sample, or open Saved takes and tap WAV for a performance. Choose Files or another destination in the system share sheet.
How do locations work?
Add a location while collecting, or open Edit → Hunt details on a finished kit. Save attaches the point. Remove location removes the map pin; a typed place name can remain. Cancelling Hunt details leaves the saved information unchanged.
What is included for free?
The Pocket studies demo and your first complete kit, including its exports and performances, are included. A single lifetime purchase unlocks additional hunts. There is no subscription.
I purchased lifetime access. How do I restore it?
Use the same Apple Account and tap Restore purchases in Settings or the purchase screen. Pending or unverified purchases do not grant access until Apple confirms them. Refund requests are handled by Apple.
Will I lose my recordings if I leave a hunt?
Captures are saved as you go. Open the waiting hunt in the library to continue. System backups may include app data, but Sound Hunt does not provide its own cloud sync. Export anything important before deleting a kit or removing the app.
